A tick bite and its aftermath inspired Founder and CEO Keith Schorsch to start Trusera. Watch as Keith and his wife, Jennifer share the story behind the company.
In 2004, while hiking with his family on the East Coast, Keith Schorsch was bitten by a tick. That bite gave him Lyme disease – a serious infectious disease that can lead to lifelong problems if not treated – but he didn't know it. For months, as he shuffled in and out of doctor offices, the disease raged through his body. One side of his face sagged, his joints and muscles ached, and he couldn’t even play with his toddler sons.
Finally, after ten doctors either misdiagnosed him, gave him harmful drugs or scratched their heads, it was a phone call from a friend saying to "get checked for Lyme" that led to his being diagnosed, and then, cured. Keith realized there wasn't a place online to easily tap into the expertise of others, to find and share health experiences, so he created Trusera.
We believe you have to take control of your own health, and leave no stone unturned. Trusera is Keith’s way to help you find the relevant, credible and useful information that he lacked and to find a purpose from it all.
